Contact Access & Usage Policy

1. Purpose of Contact Access

Alt DRX Private Limited (“Alt DRX”, “Company”, “we”, “us”, or “our”) provides a referral feature that allows users (“you” or “User”) to invite friends to the Alt DRX platform.

We request access to your device contacts solely to enable you to conveniently select recipients and share your unique referral link via supported messaging channels (such as WhatsApp) that you explicitly initiate.

We do not access contacts for profiling, marketing to your contacts independently, or building social graphs.

2. What Contact Data We Access

When you grant permission and choose to use the referral feature:

• We access contact details only after your explicit action within the referral flow.
• We process only the contacts you manually select for sending referral invites.
• We do not automatically upload or store your entire contact book.

The data elements that may be processed include:

• Contact name
• Contact phone number

No additional contact metadata is intentionally collected.

3. How We Use Contact Information

Selected contact information is used strictly for the following limited purposes:

• enabling you to select recipients for referral invitations
• facilitating delivery of your referral link through the channel you choose
• maintaining a record of referral communications initiated by you (for transparency, fraud prevention, and support)

We do not use your contacts for:

• independent marketing campaigns
• selling or renting contact data
• advertising profiling
• building user relationship graphs

All referral messages are user-initiated actions.

4. Storage and Security of Contact Data

We implement industry-standard security safeguards consistent with our Privacy Policy, including:

• encryption of contact data in transit using modern TLS protocols
• encryption and/or hashing of stored contact identifiers
• strict access controls on a need-to-know basis
• monitoring to prevent unauthorized access

Where technically feasible, contact identifiers may be stored in hashed or encrypted form.

5. Transparency to Users

For each referral action, we provide visibility within the app regarding:

• which contacts were selected
• the communication channel used (e.g., WhatsApp)
• the date the referral invite was initiated

This is intended to maintain user control and auditability.

6. No Sale or Third-Party Marketing Use

Alt DRX does not sell, rent, or trade your contact data to third parties for their independent marketing purposes.

Contact information may only be shared with trusted service providers strictly to the extent necessary to deliver the referral message you initiate, and such parties are contractually obligated to protect the data.

7. User Control and Optional Nature

• Granting contact permission is optional.
• Core app functionality remains available without granting contact access.
• You may revoke contact permission anytime from your device settings.
• If permission is denied, you may still share your referral link manually using available share options.

8. Data Retention

We retain contact-related records only for as long as necessary to:

• support the referral feature
• maintain fraud prevention controls
• comply with applicable legal and regulatory requirements

Retention periods are aligned with our Privacy Policy and applicable law.

9. Account Deletion and Contact Data Erasure

If you request account deletion in accordance with our Account Deletion Policy:

• All stored contact data associated with your account is permanently deleted from our active systems.
• Associated logs and telemetry linked to your contact data are deleted or irreversibly anonymized, except where retention is required under applicable law.
• Deletion is performed within the timelines specified in our Account Deletion Policy.

After deletion is completed, the contact data cannot be recovered.

10. Compliance with Applicable Law

Our handling of contact information is governed by:

• the Information Technology Act, 2000
• the Digital Personal Data Protection Act, 2023
• applicable platform policies (including Apple App Store and Google Play requirements)
• our Privacy Policy and Terms of Use

11. Changes to This Policy

We may update this Contact Access & Usage Policy from time to time. Material changes will be reflected by updating the “Last Updated” date.
